Huskies Lose to Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG--The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team lost to Shippensburg on Wednesday by a score of 3-1.

Bloomsburg got on the board first when Marcus Valeriano (Oley/Oley Valley) scored off a Trevor Dubensky (Milford/Delaware Valley) assist just 4:04 into the game.

The Red Raiders tied the game at the 21:39 mark on an own goal, then went ahead at 52:37 when Mark Thompson scored off a Geoff Bloes assist.

Shippensburg added an insurance goal 14 minutes later when Bloes scored unassisted.

Bloomsburg goalie David Leiendecker (Easton/Easton) had two saves on the day.

The Huskies go to 2-12-1, 2-10-1 in the PSAC, and will be back in action on Saturday hosting West Chester at 3:30 p.m.
